Save The Date
LET'S CELEBRATE
Our love story
It started with a match. One of those swipe-right moments that never seemed too promising—especially when the casual date was cancelled an hour before. Owen, betrayed by a night of negronis and birthday indulgence, opted his evening for a grueling sweat and a McDonald's Double Quarter Pounder. Some call it fate, "others" call it five-star fumble.
Danielle was one tequila in, halfway dressed for her almost-date, and deep in the throes of a wardrobe crisis—debating whether slippers could pass as shoes and if existential dread came in cotton blends. With the date officially ditched, she grabbed her Uggs and headed upstairs to her friend Taylor’s apartment for a fashion intervention and emotional triage. The mission: find the perfect outfit for Erin’s birthday party and salvage the night.
The elevator stopped on the gym floor. Her heart did too. The doors opened. And there he was—the mysteriously unavailable man from ten minutes ago. She saw potential chaos. He saw sparks (maybe).
A glance. A pause. The kind of silence that deserved its own soundtrack.
Our eyes met, and in that awkward, unplanned moment—between questionable choices and footwear—something shifted.
We exchanged a look, half-curious, half-hopeful. The elevator dinged. The moment passed. But the story didn’t. It was just beginning.
AND FROM THAT ONE ELEVATOR RIDE, EVERYTHING CHANGED. STRANGERS TURNED TO NEIGHBORDS. NEIGHBORS TO ROOMMATES. ROOMATES TO SOULMATES.

Some of our other favorite love stories

GRANDPA & GRANDMA PERKINS
When Eddy flaked, my grandma shrugged, threw on her best heels, and went out with the girls—because fate doesn’t cancel (except in my case!).
At the bar, a stranger asked her to dance, and for fifteen dizzy minutes they spun through possibility. Then, bold as brass, he popped the question mid-twirl. Her response? “Sure, what’s your name?”
Two weeks later, they were in Utah, starting a lifetime together. Six kids, including my mom Lisa, and fifty-nine years of love followed. Though they’ve since passed, we carry their story like a well-worn keepsake reminding us that magic happens when you least expect it.

MR. DOUG & MRS. LISA SYSE
At just 15, Lisa found herself on a blind date alongside three other girls—a setup that sounded questionable at best, but she’s never been one to turn down a heartfelt plea. It didn’t take long for her eyes to settle on the prize: my dad. Ever the trailblazer, she declared that going steady was outdated and engagement was the new teenage dream.
So, a year later (she was 16!), in a romantic flourish at Goodman Park, my dad knelt down before heading off to Basic training. Forty years and countless memories later, they're still going strong—proof that sometimes she is right.

MR. KEVIN & MRS. TESS BUCKLEY
My parents met as coworkers at Deloitte, working in the World Trade Center—where, plot twist, my Mom was actually my Dad’s boss. Their first glimpse of each other was in an elevator (sound familiar, Danielle?), but things really took off thanks to a coffee and a muffin.
The morning they truly first met, my Dad ran smack into my Mom, sending both flying—coffee and muffin all over her dress. Did he offer to pay the dry cleaning bill? Not even close—which didn’t sit well with his future in-laws.
A few months (somehow) of dates later, my Mom invited my Dad to her brother’s wedding. My Dad hemmed and hawed—torn between going with her or hitting the slopes on a ski trip with the boys. My Mom’s now-infamous response? “Well, you better figure it out soon,” click. Understandably, that woke him up. He went to the wedding… and the rest is history.
